Who pardon and who forgive? Is it the President whose regime has committed the most offensive and horrible crimes against the those who revolted against his unjust rule, or is it the people who are the victims and still suffer all kinds of killing, torture and oppression?
Imagine the President, who became an Honorary President since he signed a Gulf and UN Initiative in Riyadh Tuesday Nov. 23rd 2011, appear for the second and third time on Yemen Channel to announce publicly that he is still the president holding the power and that his signature ink on the Initiative is just one of his ill manifestations that are obsessed with treachery deception and lies.
It’s true that he has surprised many people with his boast and arrogance. In the time his Deputy started to practice the actual Presidential authorities we saw him taking the first place in the political informative and bloody scene as president with full power and regard. At a time he condemns the killing of the protesters and directs the Ministry of Interior to arrest the perpetrators, and another time he sends letters of congratulations to the Kings and Presidents of the Arab and Islamic countries on the anniversary of the Islamic Year let alone his congratulations to the military and security leaders while they are supposed to send him the letters of congratulations.
Not only that, his audacity has reached the limit of issuing a decree pardoning and forgiving his victims whom are today a population of more than 25 million people. Then, is there any rudeness or audacity like these behaviors? Just imagine the Yemeni people shouting calling for the trial of President Saleh and refusing the GCC Initiative as it gave him a chance to escape himself with his wealth and family.
With these popular daily demonstrations shouting (no immunity, no guarantee) the President stands up to declare he has forgiven his people. It's the same old logic that he has used against his opponents during his former wars in the central areas, in the south or in Saada or other conflicts in which the Presidential amnesty had its charm and effectiveness for his rule derived from such conflicts and wars.
The president, when playing the same role, had dropped many urgent variables today. The point is that what is currently going in the country is neither a Communist Insurgency nor a Nasserist, Separatist, Houthi, Military nor Sectarian Coup or whatever you may call but it’s a popular revolution that rejects President and his family to stay.
Three Arab leaders had preceded him either to jail, exile or to the grave and despite what happened and what will happen in the upcoming days the President thinks that he is the most insightful and able leader to survive and be in safe place. Maybe he thought that he differs from ZainAlabdeen, Mubarak, Gadhafi or even Basshar. This absurdity and arrogance is obvious when we watch Yemen and Sheba Channels and the official media.
In one hand we have an Acting President who called for presidential elections, appointed a prime minister of a reconciliation government and directed to put an end to the armed manifestations, and on the other hand we have a former President whose main concern is to stay in power even if he had to undermine and close every source of light and hope. Such behaviors can only be justified as being stemmed from a person who suffers several diseases such as Schizophrenia, Sadism, narcissism, paranoia and other psychological and mental diseases which undoubtedly had disastrous and tragic consequences in the Yemenis and their country which is exhausted on the economical, social, psychological and mental levels due to such abnormal acts.
Finally, it is worth to assert that we have two presidents. One of them calls for an early presidential elections and assigns the opposition to form the government, and the other one directs, forgives, punish, warns and disable all positive actions that would save the county and its people from the current situation caused by such hardship that rejects any attempts to help the country.
There is nothing confirms that Saleh would be different after he transferred his power to Deputy Abdurabo since all we see do not reassure at all. The president who never showed any respect to himself, his responsibility and his duty towards people along 33 years can bear humiliation and abuse especially in such circumstance where he is about to lose his power.
