A year has passed since the break out of the revolution in February 2011, at the University Square.
It is the revolution that revived September and October revolutions, after they were forced into retirement at early age. Despite the sacrifices and the unprecedented sufferings that accompanied the year of the youth revolution, the access to safety requires struggle with waves and storms, which needs a great deal of patience to survive the dark caves and sharp turns.
The old and modern history is full of lessons of the pioneers and faithful leaders who managed to pull their countries out of bottle necks with varied forms and sizes.
The successful revolutions are not those which happen in overnight, even if they are accomplished in short periods, because the achievement of their stated goals and the new objectives that appear to them requires time for deliberation and choice.
The most important achievement of the Arab youth revolution is realized in the achievement of two great goals, around which the desires of the motherland and people are centered . They are the liberation of the meaning of the Arab republican rule which had been hidden for a long time under the cloak of the unconstitutional monarchy. The Arab republican ruler remains for lifetime in power until he dies or removed by a coup d'état, and he also acquires the right for succession his son or one of his relatives, a concept which has no place in the republican system, that stipulates limited periods for the president so as to give the people the opportunity to choose their next ruler in a period of four or eight years. The absence of such a principle which is based on the devolution of power to had made people to fail in differentiation between a republican and royal systems.
Now, because of the popular youth revolution which has predominated or will predominate the Arab world, the so called extension or succession has come to an end forever. The principle of power transfer in its responsible perspective became possible. These are the first objectives that have been accomplished and they could be followed by others that are linked to living needs, citizenship, free education, medical treatment and other issues which the revolution revived, after they had shrinked and were about to fade away in the years of decline and dullness. We salute the youth of the revolution and, wish victory to the homeland and freedom and dignity to citizens.
