Like food stuffs, expired powers are poisonous

When they expire, useful items become dangerous, or even poisonous, including food stuffs but also medicines. Therefore, consumers are advised not to use such materials after their expiry date. If this is the case for useful materials, how about materials that are basically poisonous? This is not a discovery by the writer; it is a fact known by almost all adults, but such concept should also be applied to people, particularly in authority.

After Saleh's authorities as a president have expired, most people expected the misfortunes would decrease. On the contrary, they were almost doubled. Starting from the far north of the country, Houthi attacks last week exacerbated the situation in the Damaj area of Saada Province, some 150kilometers to the north of Sana'a, claiming lives of more than 30 – according to Yemeni Defense Ministry – and leaving hundreds of people wounded and hundreds of families languishing under the yoke of siege. In Sana'a, there are still sporadic clashes, particularly in Hasaba and Sufan neighborhoods. To the south, Abyan Province has been suffering the presence of terrorist group. Aden City also witnessed violence acts, where "gunmen shot dead two Yemeni soldiers Wednesday … as thousands rallied there to call for secession from the north", according to AFP. The main city of Taiz and some of its districts have been plagued with serious armed confrontations that, during 3 days, killed 17 people and injured hundreds.

Most of such developments in the Yemeni scene have occurred since Saleh came back to Aden, where secession calls disappeared throughout youth revolution only to reappear with his return. This is because he still has authorities supposed to be handed over to Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi, and because his aides and supporters still determined not to leave power. What can be expected from someone used to kill civilians despite his responsibility for their safety? If he feels they are enemies forced him to abandon resources of wealth and influence, undoubtedly he will revenge, even though they are his people.

Expired people must be stripped of all the powers they are no longer authorized to practice. Otherwise, fighting would spread to other areas by means of Saleh's devilish schemes.
